The Hummelstad Trail starts at the old school in Hummelstad and is about 6.3 km long. The trail goes through the landscape and up several viewing mountains.

For the Hummelstad Trail, you start the hike on the oldest country road, which dates from the 1600s. The sign is at the old crossroads to Hummelstad village, which then had five farms. The road goes down the hill over a narrow, dug canal, which was created in the late 1800s. The canal was intended to lower Igelmossen to make the land more arable. The water flows to Grodkärr and further out into Långsjön. The trail then goes through Hästhagen with large grazing areas. Eventually you come out on the road, which was built in the early 1800s, but continue left on the oldest road and pass "Smedens kofve" and one of many roads to Björkmossen. The stone bridge here was probably built in the 19th century, when the canal was deepened. The bog, which is divided by the canal is called Malins or Molins mosse. Now you are approaching the road, which was built in the 1930s as so-called. AK work. Follow the old road to the milestone, which was added in 1734, when it was ordered to make a measurement of the county roads. You continue on the so-called Vagnvägen and soon cross the border between Hummelstads and Kälkestads properties. You pass the site of an itinerant sawmill from the 1930s. You will also see the sign for the Slättfall farm, which was demolished in the mid-1930s. On the other side of the meadow you will see the remains of a tar pit.

You continue on and come to the site of Orremåla, boatman's cottage number 63 Kälkestad. The cottage belonged to Tjust's boatman company and you see it, as you arrive at the newly broken forest road that you follow. The cottage was moved already in the 1840s.

To the left of the trail you see the bog and spring, which once supplied the barns in Kälkestad.

The water continues down towards Kogaren, and on the way down the water is also used by Dröppstad. The journey now goes up Uhresberget, where you have a wonderful view of Lake Kogaren, Hallingeberg church and several villages. There are opportunities to eat packed lunches and you can also visit the "tomtestenen".

On the way down from Uhresberget, you pass the site of a nail smithy at the turn of the last century, over the footbridge at Smedkällan, where coffee water used to be fetched for ceremonial occasions. You follow the old Kälkestad road and eventually reach Stenarebacken, crossing the border with Hummelstad's properties and up towards Nyckelberget. The mountain is said to have gotten its name from a knight who lost his keychain there. The view is also fantastic here, with Långsjön in the south and the large forests of Ankarsrum. Just below is Hummelstad.

At the end of the trail you pass large, mighty burial cairns from the Bronze Age (1800-500 BC).

The tradition about them can be read in the brochure, which is available at the beginning of the trail.
